"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf" - Jon Kabat Zinn
In a time where we are hit with continuous stimuli, the waves of change seem to be moving faster than ever. The global crisis has created uncertainty in proportions never experienced by most of us. Whether struggling with your health, the health of a loved one, battling cancer, parenting through different life stages, new physical challenges with aging, changes in your career, housing or relationships, I provide a nonjudgemental space to find tools to cope. Video counseling gives us the opportunity for me to join you on your couch, which can create more comfort and ease in forming a trusting therapeutic relationship.
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Registered Art Therapist and a Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider in the states of California and Texas, paring Video Counseling with Psychotherapy and incorporating tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Grief Counseling and Trans-Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I specialize in processing issues around physical and experiential change-whether relating to health, age, circumstances, gender or sexual orientation.
I serve adolescents transitioning to adulthood, adults & couples and I am proud to serve the LGBTQIA community. We all need connection and support now more than ever. I hope to be an empathetic companion as you work to learn the tools needed to more easily surf the storms of your life. In this uncertain time, I will be extending my hours and offering more sliding scale options on a case by case basis to squeeze in as many in need of support as I can. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
My thoughts will be with you all for continued safety and peace.
